The Whimsy Collection: Upcycled White Denim Bags Inspired By Summer Days

Some sewing projects begin with fabric. Others begin with a feeling.

The Whimsy Collection was inspired by bright summer mornings, soft floral fabrics, countryside escapes and the relaxed feeling of wandering through small streets on the Greek islands with a handmade bag over your shoulder.

For this collection, I wanted to create something light, romantic and practical at the same time... bags that feel nostalgic and playful while still being durable enough for everyday use.

Each bag is handmade using reclaimed white denim from old Levi’s jeans combined with carefully selected Liberty fabrics and floral cotton prints. The contrast between structured denim and delicate florals creates the soft vintage-inspired aesthetic that became the heart of this collection.

One of the things I love most about working with reclaimed denim is that every fabric already carries its own history. Through upcycling, old materials are transformed into something completely new while still preserving small traces of their previous life: pockets, seams, texture and natural fading that make every piece unique.

The Whimsy bags feature quilted floral panels, zippered tops, adjustable matching straps and lightweight shapes designed for everyday adventures: from city strolls and coffee dates to summer markets and music festivals.

While designing this collection, I found myself inspired by slow Greek summer living, romantic summer escapes, textures, handmade craftsmanship, soft feminine details and the beauty of giving forgotten fabrics a second life.

Every bag in this collection is one of a kind, made slowly and thoughtfully in my studio in Athens using reclaimed materials and small fabric remnants that would otherwise go unused.
