The Getaway Duo: An Upcycled Travel Tote Bag for Weekend Getaways and Everyday Adventures

 

Some of my favourite designs begin with a problem I need to solve myself.

For years, whenever I travelled, I found myself searching for the same thing: a large tote bag that could sit securely on my suitcase handle at the airport, carry everything I needed for the journey and still look beautiful enough to take with me for the rest of the trip.

Most travel bags felt too sporty for my style, while most tote bags lacked the practical features I needed when travelling.

So I decided to design my own.

The result is the Getaway Duo, an oversized quilted travel tote bag handmade from repurposed white denim jeans and floral cotton fabrics, complete with a matching ruffle pouch for all the little essentials you want close at hand.

A Handmade Travel Tote Bag with a Story: One of the things I love most about creating handmade bags is giving old materials a second life.

These upcycled travel tote bags were created using repurposed denim and carefully selected floral cotton fabrics. Instead of ending up forgotten in a cupboard, these materials have been transformed into a practical and romantic weekender bag designed for modern travel.
