The Teabag Wallet: A Cute Sewing Project for Tea Lovers

If you love tea, you probably have a few favourite flavours that you like to keep close by. Maybe you have a particular tea for your morning, another for the afternoon and one that you always take with you when you're travelling.

So why not make a little fabric wallet just for your tea?

Meet my Teabag Wallet: a small, practical sewing project designed to keep your favourite tea bags organised and easy to carry. 

A little wallet just for your tea

The Teabag Wallet folds neatly into a compact little pouch that you can pop into your handbag, backpack or travel bag.

Inside, it has five pockets, each large enough for one or two tea bags, so you can carry up to 10 tea bags with you.

And, of course, you don't have to use it only when you're travelling. It's also a lovely way to keep your favourite teas together at home instead of having loose tea bags floating around in your kitchen drawer.

A perfect scrap fabric project

One of my favourite things about this project is how little fabric it requires. It's perfect for using beautiful cotton scraps that are too small for a larger sewing project but far too pretty to throw away. You can use: Quilting cotton, cotton poplin, pretty fabric scraps, old cotton shirts, old lightweight cotton sheets and more!

This makes the Teabag Wallet a lovely upcycling sewing project too. An old shirt or vintage sheet can become something completely new and useful.

Make it for yourself... or as a gift

I think the Teabag Wallet would make such a sweet little handmade gift for a tea lover.

You could make one using their favourite colours or prints and fill it with a selection of their favourite teas. It would also be a lovely little addition to a larger handmade gift basket.

And because it's small and lightweight, it's an easy project to make several of at once.
